Casey Stein is a D.C.-born, New York-educated, and Brooklyn-based director. He is also an independent producer. His client list includes Nike, IBM, American Express, Verizon, Amgen, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, David Bowie, Bon Jovi, Jimmy Fallon, Joe Biden For President, Kamala Harris For President, WeWork, Watches Of Switzerland, Marriott, New York Theatre Workshop, Universal Music, Sony Music, Warner Music, Interscope Records, and many more.
Casey grew up in and around local theater productions and exploring D.C. on his BMX bike. Then, he moved to New York to attend NYU’s Tisch School of The Arts, where he got a degree in Film and Television. After graduating, Casey worked in the camera department, making a name for himself as a DP before transitioning to directing and producing.
Today, his work spans mediums and is emblematic of the creative industry today— he’s done everything from major 30-second broadcast ads to social campaigns to multi-camera livestreams to longer-form storytelling (like TV and documentaries) to interactive/video games. He’s comfortable entering a production at any stage — from a fully formed idea to initial ideation. Casey has spent nearly a decade writing, testing, and perfecting interactive stories through his studio, LWT Interactive, which he runs with his co-writer Ben Zeiger. His first two interactive films, Holy Night and OTIS, have been featured at festivals around the world, including the Tribeca Film Festival and the New York Film Festival. Their latest project, Great Northern, is in the final stages of financing and development.
Casey’s happiest place is making projects that don’t fit into a box. He loves a good challenge, strong teamwork, and a healthy dose of laughter. He lives with his wife, Hannah, and their dog, Dilly, in the shadow of Prospect Park. Outside of work, he's a passionate cyclist, traveler, and dedicated volunteer for several nonprofits across the tri-state area.
